Does anyone know if the lens are removable on a 2003 w211 headlight ? ? My lens’s are scratched but I’ve managed to get a n/s unit cheap but not an o/s so will be cheaper to buy a lens if are removable ??

I had shocking polycarbonate round headlights on a w203. They were yellow and pitted with stone chips, and generally couldn't be seen through.

Removed the light from the car (because it's relatively easy to get the bumper off and do a good job).
Sanded the headlight with 600 grit wet and dry (with water) until all yellow and all large scratched and chips removed (don't need to polish afterwards).
Sprayed the headlight with a 2k clearcoat that you can buy in an aerosol (I think about £20 of Amazon or the bay of dreams). The cans have a push-pin in the bottom to release the hardener, so you have to use it immediately.
The clearcoat flows and fills in all the minor scuffs, and looks totally clean and see-through after spraying.
Is this an option?

I bought a philips headlight polish kit but it didn't clean the headlight lens to a noticeable difference. As suggested by MrGreedy, I took the bumper off and removed the headlights and used 600, 1200, 2000 and 3000 grit paper. This process removed all scratches from the lens (I had plenty) and made a huge difference to the look of the car.

you can but you have to break the glue which seals the lens to the lamp.

You can buy the lens from ebay, Tigar seal is what id use to reseal the units

Ended up purchasing used headlights from eBay as was desperate to get lights sorted as couldn’t see at all at night and bk roads were a total no go ! But thanks guys !
