Apologies about common thread.
how do I find out the type of suspension on my car? If the rear drops is it only a rear end problem- garage says they ‘ll need to take off covers and smear lube to see where air leaking. Is this the best way to see if it’s pipes that need replacing?

Well thats one of the ways to check for a leak on the pipe work or the unions, you might check the ride height sensor as well,,you might find the arm has broken, that can dump the rear of the car onto the bump stops

Thank you - Re the sensor, is that checked via a plug in device ?
The car levels once fired up n moved back n forth.

Ok so the car car comes up to a level position once the car is started,so forget the level sensor it is working,so what happens is the rear of the car goes down both sides if say left sitting overnight,so there must be a leak on pipework or valve block or any union on that system,so it is a matter of finding the leak.

Thank you @zipdip !
So the solution is to physically strip the car underneath and manually find the leak- can’t plug in and locate leak !?
thanks so much for your help.
Just a rear wiper “half moon” to locate now as well🙌 £16 from MB quoted
