A friend of mine is selling this SL 350 for £2995, if anyone is interested.

I don't know the car, just posting it for a mate. He wants rid, hence the price.

At that price, I'm surprised some hopeful tosser looking to make a quick buck by flipping it in a couple of months hasn't snapped it up. Bet he's had a few "Will you take (insert ludicrously low amount here) cash now for it?" calls already, though...

He has!!

Same old 20 year olds.

Might well be fabulous, but the problem is it’s surrounded by all kind of lovely 20 and 25 year olds. Let alone the 15 year olds….

Not fabulous, but cheap enough to be genuinely a lot of car for the money.

In a world full of 15-25 year olds that are also great value for money, some of which will need minor maintenance this year: tyres, plugs, fluids; and some of which will need fettling, and some of which that could need expensive repairs.

I say this not to diss it, but to point out that there are a lot of 20 year olds luxury cars out there looking for new homes because of tax, fuel & maintenance costs.

I think the trick is as a buyer, is to find the diamonds in the rough.

There’s some peaches out there for not a whole lot more money than some of the really poor examples.

This SL350 looks pretty good to me, and excellent value for money. I don’t need it but I’d be half tempted if I didn’t have something similar already! 🫣😅

Looks a good buy Mike, I would have been tempted but bought one from a member on here a few weeks ago. less miles, more money!

Now sold

Why do people hide part of the reg? It may be a silly question but when I see something like that, I just move on to the next car.

Plate cloning
Mmm, I want to clone a plate, should I go on auto trader where I can search for the exact year and model of car or randomly search an enthusiasts forum in the hope that I see something similar...... 😛😛😛

Most cars are on more than one website, I think. That said, even when they aren't, as perhaps on the back of a car transporter full of writeoffs, I suspect many people do it on the basis that it can't hurt.

Oh, so it's you then is it??:D

Plate cloning

there must be around at least a million+ motors on various trading sites - with resect, that is a poor excuse, IMHO.

As others have said, it's maybe a safeguard against cloning, but the advert for the car in this thread showed the registration. Now that it's sold the ad has been taken down and the link in my first post is taking you to a completely different car and seller. Just as well to move on if you're looking for a 2004 350 model.
