2005 S211 Comand Update

Hi, ive searched and got confused so if someone could provide a definitive answer for me that'd be great.

I have a 2005 S211 with comand running on the original firmware and DVD maps. If i purchase a V15 disc will i need to buy a V12 disc first for the firmware updates or is it plug and play so to speak. Dont want to spend 150 on a disc just to have to go and spend more if you know what i mean.

Nope, you're fine, the last few map discs have had the update on. I went from the original 2005 disc straight to v13 in one hit.

all done with v15 disc from Germany (much cheaper than the UK), just need to update the firmware now so i get ETA etc.

That's the first thing the disc should've done, check the menus as I do remember having to turn it on.

ill be honest in that it "updated" a lot quicker than i thought it would. the progess screen came on, i had the progress bars which sat at around 5 % (rough guess) then it disappeared and i had the newer look. couldnt find eta though?

You have to set a destination and start guidance, then press one of the side buttons, then Map and you will see the option.

i did set a destination, i got the TMC box at the bottom which i never had before. I couldnt see any other options though when i pressed the buttons. More playing needed i think, thanks

I got my v15 for about 20 quid....Mercedes sat nav CD/DVD updates from only £25 yeah its fake, but it works fine inmy 04 from a very early version.

Must have done something wrong as I have no ETA anywhere that I can find.

I'm beggining to think there might be something wrong with the disc/Nav drive. When i put the disc in it started up as normal, then went to the update screen (2 progress bars). it stayed on that for a minute maybe but the bars never moved. Then it went to the pay attention to the road when driving screen and then i had the new styles maps. Does that sound right?
