2006 E320 CDI egr delete question

hey guys, come to the conclusion the issues with my car are down to the EGR valve. reading various posts about deleting this but theres different methods being reported and dont want to get the wrong one, do i need to buy a device ready made to wire in or is it a case of altering the wires already present? cheers
