My diff has started to groan so I'm on the look out for a new diff or reconned.. but there doesn't appear to be a tag on the diff at all to tell me the ratio - is there a part number by any chance on the build plate inside the door or any other way of finding out what ratio I have please??

The 111 and 115 were both 3.273 as standard, with 3.455 as an option (although it's not listed on my 2007 UK price list).

The 109 and 120 were both different (3.727 and 2.923 respectively).

I also thought there was a tab somewhere on the outside of the diff giving the ratio - are you sure there's nothing there?

Been all over it Bill, it looks although its been replaced at one point as its marked in Tipex but no tab or label whatsoever which is a bummer and I have the opportunity of a brand new diff for £385.. but its a 45:11 ..and off a 109CDi

You could always jack up one back wheel and count the propshaft rotations as you turn the wheel by hand (gearbox in neutral, obviously!).

Very likely anything off a 109 will be lower geared though.
