Hi folks.

I'm new to Mercedes but pretty experienced with car mtce and stuff.

I want to change the oil on my car and have no real issues with getting under to remove under tray and sump plug but fancy using an oil extractor from the top.

As you will all know this car (pre-facelift) doesn't have a dipstick but I was wondering if the tube exists to enable the extractor tube access.

It seems to be a popular topic but I'm not sure of a definitive answer.

Any help as to where it would be if it exists and whether there's an anti tamper cap to deal with would be most helpful.

Otherwise its a crawl underneath. ;)

Cheers, Steve

Hi

I've been away for a few days in the Lakes so have just taken off the engine covers and found the dipstick tube with the red plug cap. I've ordered an oil extractor so will change the oil in a few days.

Cheers Steve

I've been changing oil for over forty years via the sump plug and only recently converted to an oil extractor.

You'll never go back.

Just as long as you are on the right dip stick hole .And if its got a closed cap on the top may be for the automatic ATF fluid dip stick .
