Hello all,

Quick question to 211 E class owners..

I have noticed that when I turn the key to start the cars engine,.. even if I let go of the key, the engine still turns over and trys to start. It isnt actually a problem, and actually is actually quite helpful as my car normally takes about 1.5-2 seconds to burst into life...but I am used to engines only turning over for as long as I hold the key in the correct and final position.

Is this a feature :thumb:or do I need to worry...

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Gordon, .. will read the manual. It must just be me, but I find manuals get more and more difficult to understand. Mine referred me to about 3 other places just to understand how to reset the tyre pressure sensors...Maybe I am just getting old. :)

I think it tries for 10 seconds - which seems ages the first time you experience it, frightened the life out of me!

They all do it.

Only the auto's. ;)

A manual could run away with itself if left in gear (I did use that capability when the cambelt of a Cavalier broke in lane 3 of the M62!).

I get in the qashqai and wonder why it does not just start when I click the key over everye time!
