I have a 2007 E350 Sport. Occassionally the automatic gearbox sticks in a high gear. In other words the automatic function does not work. It can be quickly corrected by switching off the ignition and restarting the engine. The problem is that it should not happen and the frequency is now increasing - it has happened twice today and is very annoying. I have taken the car to my local Mercedes garage who I have used for many years and they have checked the onboard computer but that has not identified the actual problem. They have quoted £1,000 for replacing a switch at the bottom of the gearbox but cannot confirm that this will remedy the problem. Can you please help?
