For sale is my 2008/58 plate Mercedes E280 CDI saloon (W211). In this respect it is the later facelifted W211, which is a much better car than the pre-facelift version.
The current mileage is c. 133,000. I have owned the car since Feb 2019 and have covered 24,000 miles in that time. It has never not started or left me stranded.
It is the Avantgarde model and has:
Standard equipment:
7 speed tiptronic automatic gearbox with comfort/sport modes
Climate control (the ac was regassed in May23 and is ice cold)
Full leather interior
Bi Xenon headlamps
Cruise control
Electric front seats
Cornering illumination (uses the fog lights)
Front+rear parking sensors (Parktronic)
Folding+heated mirrors
ISOFIX
Brake-hold
Optional extras:
Comand infotainment/Satnav (APS NTG)
Phone prep. I also have a Viseeo MB4+ Bluetooth adapter, which comes with the car (these can be hard to find and expensive)
CD changer (this is in the dashboard, not in the boot)
Heated front seats
Larger fuel tank (80 litres rather than the normal 70 litres)
The car is MOT'd until Jan 2024.
I have 2 keys.
On a steady motorway run, I have seen 42mpg so it's reasonably economical for a 3.0 V6 engine.
The car is fitted with 'Homan' wheels. These are MB wheels, albeit they were not offered on the W211 (they were used on the R230 SL). They were recently refurbished and are in excellent condition. The tyres are all season tyres (all matching 245/45/17) with plenty of tread. I have the standard wheels but they need refurbishing and only 2 of the tyres are good but the buyer is welcome to them if wanted.
The bodywork and interior are in good condition for the age and mileage. There is no rust nor noticeable dents that I'm aware of. Any scratches are commensurate with the age/mileage.
The boot is very clean.
There is quite a bit of service history. During my ownership, I have had the following work done:
New alarm horn (Apr 2019)
New NSR shock absorber (Apr 2019)
OSF upper ball joint, NSF thrust arm, NSR trunion bush (May 2019)
Engine and gearbox mounts (July 2019)
4 wheel alignment (Jan 2020)
Oil, oil filter, air filter x2, fuel filter, cabin filter and osf lower balljoint (Feb 2020)
Fuel line and fuel filter (July 2020)
Oil+filter (Feb 2021)
Stop lamp switch (Apr 2021)
Turbo actuator (Aug 2021)
Headlamp bulbs (Jan 2022)
AC regas (May 2023)
I also have some other bills dating back to when the car was new.
Note that this car is not fitted with a DPF. Being a facelift, it is also not fitted with the SBC braking system (which is probably a good thing).
There is no outstanding finance on the car. As far as I know, it has never been involved in an accident.
The car is located near Fareham, Hampshire and I am asking £2995 ono.
