Before I take the car back to the dealer I want to check if I've done something I shouldn't have.

Mrs M has informed me this morning this has been happening for about two weeks.

When the passenger front electric window is closed it immediately opens again about 8" down and stops without any buttons being pressed.....it repeats this again and again and then eventually stops where it should closed.

Have we accidentally triggered something? Has the window lost it's "memory" on where it's meant to stop?

Do I just run it back to the dealer and get them to sort it?

I guessed as much, I just wanted to check I'd not activated some sort of safety mechansim or something odd.

There are 2 things that I would consider - firstly try 're-setting the windows - push them all the way down and hold the button for 2-3 seconds, and then all the way up and hold for 2-3 seconds.

If this doesn't sort it then try some silicon spray in the channels - I had this on an old A6 some years ago and it sorted it.

If not, then what he said!!:dk:

I've had this problem once on the A but never thought anything of it. I read on some other MB forum thats its a fairly common issue and usually fixed by reseting the windows I believe. Wouldnt worry too much about it.

This was where I saw it mentioned - http://www.mbfanatics.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=659

I tried the reset in #4 and it worked, no problem since.
