Good afternoon. I am having some troubles on my clk 320 cdi. I suspect i am experiencing oil cooler seals leaking, plus my speedtronic/tempomat has stopped working.
I have noted that i have small oil leaks under the motor and i think it should be the oil cooler, since looking under the oil seems to come from the known drips.
Car has 340.000 km and i already experienced a 7G fault due to a mechanic that washed the gearbox instead of only changing the oil..
After looking for the oil level and refilling what had obviously come out, a strange thing happened...i had an oil spray from the filler cap.
The motor runs good and strong, no esitation on acceleration or strange knacking noises...i have never cleaned the egr or changed the turbo red seals, could it be that the pvc has to be changed ?
I am sure i havent overfilled the motor with oil, and honestly i hope is some simple thing like oil cap that needs changing (Ex MB mechanic told me it happened on some cars)

The speedtronic is instead dead... no light open on the stalk for the limiter nor input or nothing.
Already changed with another stick and no solution. When plugged in with xentry diagnostic for checking the signals you move the cruise stalk but it senses no signal, like there is nothing connected
Checked under door still for the can bus connections but all looks ok, i only have found a disconnected cable that seems to go nowhere...yellow with black stripe, not present on any diagram but it looks like brand new never plugged.
What could i look into for this ??
i noticed two small black spots in the dash, could this be some moisture in the dashboard cluster that prevents normal functions ? MB dealer said it was the stalk, i bought one and changed it with no results...

Give me your thoughts
Marco

Get it plugged into some suitable diagnostic tool like Star or Icarsoft or similar.. That will eliminate the guesswork

Thanks for the suggestion buti already had it plugged for 3 times. Firts MB Dealer Plugged, tested and said it was the stalk. I bought myslef a Stalk and changed it, no solution. Plugged two times with Xentry (MB) from my mechanic friend that worked as chief mechanich MB Dealer. No codes. In all the cases when you go to check the various signals from teh components (Gear selector, Brake Pedal, Brake stop light Sensor ecc..) you go to test the stalk and there is no communication.
I have checked the connections from the steering column and all seem ok, only think i can think of is some corrosion somewhere, all the fuses are ok and checked.
The rear sam is ok and i think that the Cruise Control is handled by the front sam.
This i need suggestions on how to investigate further...i may have bought a defective stalk but i have checked operations of ot with a tester between the pins and it works.

For the motor i have no engine light on neither low oil signals so it's either as simple as a new cap and oil cooler or my engine is done then there is no need to upgrade the cooler seals.

I have acquired another cruise control stalk and changed it. I have also checked clock spring and all is ok.
Nothnig changed, all is dead.
If you press the cruise stalk to engage limit mode no light comes on, there should be somthing inbetween that has been disconnected or creating other problems.
All fuses are ok and i dont know ehre to check.
Original MB dealer said it should be the stalk after diagnosis, dotn know the codes they have pulled but told me this.
It's NOT !!
