Hello,

Please can someone tell me where is the crankshaft sensor location on the 2008 B200 automatic?

I've removed the air filter housing and I can not find this to replace.

Getting code P0016.

It will be much further down than the air filter housing.

The sensors are generally down by the engine and transmission join. Usually in a very awkward place!

m113 engine crank sensor.jpg

Here is the CPS on an M113 V8 , same on the V6 version and many others. Counts the pulses from the starter motor ring (kind of) which , of course, is bolted directly to the crankshaft.

Is it perhaps the camshaft sensor you are looking for ?

Post the first 6 numbers of your Vin if you have a different model.

OP , sounds like you are needing camshaft sensor . Position 40 on the first diagram.
From Google re fault code P0016

A "P0016" fault code on a Mercedes indicates a problem with the correlation between the crankshaft position and the camshaft position, essentially meaning the timing of the engine is out of sync, often caused by a faulty camshaft position sensor, a worn timing chain, or issues with the crankshaft position sensor itself.
