Good morning all,

I hope everyone is keeping well.

I need to change the front and rear brake discs and pads on my CL63. I am looking at OEM parts but has anyone any suggestions on an alternative. I am ringing the main dealer this morning but I suspect then will cost €4,000 (I live in Ireland).

I would really appreciate any feedback.

Thanks lads,

Brian.

It's a shame you live in Ireland, i have a set of New Front OEM Discs for sale

Hi Peter,

Would you post them to Ireland? I would pay for postage obviously.

Thanks,

Brian.

Thanks for that. They won't ship to outside the UK!!

Welcome to Brexit.

Probably better off booking the car into a UK based independent MB specialist nearest to whatever port you would land in , drive over get all the work done , drive back with all the new bits (transmission and engine service at the same time ? ) bolted to the car , thereby importing them tax and postage and hassle free. Labour charge will probably be less too. OK you have the ferry and fuel , but treat it as a bit of a holiday and all good.

The way things are this might not be able to happen (covid) until the summer time anyway.

I was thinking about that too. The service quality for AMG's etc. in Ireland is poor. They're really out of their depth and a lot of garages are completely bluffing.

Hi Brian,

Yes I can. I not sure of the cost as they weigh a ton !! I can get them weighed and get back to you, with the cost. They would have to be couriered.

Mercedes Benz Brooklands quote £ 759.40 ( inclusive vat ) each.

£1,000.00 for the pair + postage. Let me know if you are interested ?

Hi Peter,

That would be great, thanks. Can you check the courier cost and we go from there?

Thanks very much,

Brian.

Get back to you tomorrow :thumb:

Hi Peter,

I live in Cork. It is the very south of Ireland.

Brian.

As you're lucky enough to still be part of EU, have a look on the Autodoc website as they are very competitive especially when there is a deal going on.
I used them many times, most recently for discs for my E63 and never had an issue.

Hi Brian,

They are 18kg each, FedEx £190.00 ?

Best,

Peter.

Just checked Autodoc From £387 - £795 You pays your money !!
