2008 CLs boot wont open...

Odd one this, boot won’t open even with the key, centre brake light has become intermittent and has now failed and the number plate lights have a failure message but I have changed the bulbs for new ones.


Smacks of some kind of electronic fault but what I really need is to get into the boot! Any suggestions gratefully received

When you say "even with the key" do you mean fob or emergency? The boot should always open if using the emergency blade, unless of course the lock barrel is seized?

Have tried opening with the remote switch in the driver door, if you have it?

Actually the key does open it after a good soak in WD40....

Looks like I have some broken wiring around the boot hinge but haven’t found exactly which wires. Need to trace the number plate lamps, the 3rd brake light and the boot opener. Could be the earth but all the other electrics work
