I am going to change my engine mounts tomorrow so looking up a bit on internet. seeing a few different things regarding getting them out of engine bay.
dealers remove exhaust downpipes to remove mounts from the spaces created.
also read you can remove serpentine belt and unbolt alt and air con pump and move to one side and remove mounts from above.
also read passenger side by removing downpipe and drivers by moving alt and dropping roll bar at front mounts and removing drivers from below front.
Anyone confirm if the both from above is possible.

Well I replaced the two engine mounts and the gearbox mount today, Its not a hard job just fiddly and time consuming.

Tools needed:
1/4" socket set.
E10 Socket.
E12 Socke.t
Flat Screwdriver.
Couple of cable ties and pair of wire cutters.
Engine mount spanner or as i used 16mm ratchet spanner.
Jack and block of wood.
Car ramps.

First look at passenger side, this is straight forward as it just comes out the bottom/rear, (lower bolt 13mm, upper bolt 16mm)

New and old. this mount was a stuffed as they get and was basically falling apart.

The driver side is more difficult as there is no room to remove mount from engine bay without removing something, I opted for the same option the dealers use by removing the Cat, Engine mount also has a heat shield.

This mount had collapsed in on itself but was intact unlike the passenger side.

Ill also add I did one side at a time and the gearbox rear mount is straight forward, two 13mm bolts from below and two 16mm bolts attaching it to gearbox.
As always putting everything back together is opposite of taking apart.
Use wide shallow block of wood to protect your sump and gearbox sump when you lift them, chock wheels etc when on ramps.

Must be a limit on edits, the socket set should be 3/8" not 1/4" sorry just noticed.
Also the proper 16mm Mercedes spanner for the engine mount upper bolts would make life easier.
