Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I've been here as haven't had a Merc for a while, I've just got a 2008 Vito to replace my mk7 Transit work van that has given up and it has a couple of issues.
The heating doesn't always blow hot air, I can have it turned all the way to hot and it will come out barely warmer, then it will work and blow hot air fine, it's quite random how it does this, although I've noticed as soon as I get the van up to speed on the Motorway-roughly 60 MPH and over it will blow hot air fine and continue doing so for the rest of the journey.
I also am getting some water come through the rubber flooring on the drivers footwell, just to eliminate what most are thinking, the heater matrix has been changed and I'm still getting some water, although this does seem more like water and doesn't smell or look like coolant at all so think this is probably a separate issue, drain plug blocked somewhere perhaps?.
does the heating issue most likely sound like a thermostat?, it's the only other thing I can really think of.
It does have A/C if that makes a difference?, although that isn't working either so suspect it either needs a regal or a new condenser, although that is a problem for when it gets warmer!.
Any help appreciated.
