Hello fellow MB owners

Im quite a newby with cars so please excuse me

Well I had my clc for over a month now and all of a sudden im loosing power

It feels like the gear is not engaged properly as when accelerating it just revs and limits at 3000 rpms with no acceleration

Can someone please guide me please?

Thanks

Hi, when the car detects a fault it sends it into limp mode (not going past 3k) , the only way to find the fault properly is to get it plugged in otherwise its just a guessing game

Thanks

Sounds like the MAF.but best advice get a Star check to avoid wasting cash speculating.
Don

Hello thanks for your reply

Do I have to go to mb or can I go to any garage to get this diagnostic test done?

Don thanks for your response

Please excuse my knowledge but whar is a star check?

You can go to an Indie with Star equipment, look at recommended on this site or post where you are based and someone will chip in.
Star as in Mercedes 3 pointed star is MB own diagnostic system which plugs in to the car and generates codes to establish problems. Main dealer system also has relevant pages of car to show part that needs replacement etc!

Hi, you can go to any garage but a mercedes indie is recommended, even better if they have a star, the star is the dealer level diagnostic system for mercedes

O ok

Im based in Gloucester and commute to Bristol so if anyone does have this equipment I would msssively appreciate some help

Just out of interest what is an indie and once again please excuse my lack of knowledge

Thank you all for your posts

Oh thank you for educating me with the mb terminology

Just out of interest how will a diagnostic test cost from an indie??

I know my guy and its free sometimes other times if he is busy £30. Someone may charge up to £80, how long is a piece of string?
