2009 E350 cdi coupe engine knocking

Hi, I am looking for some advice as I need to replace my om642 engine as it has developed a knocking noise.
Will the om642 engine out of a 2007 w211 / c219 be a direct replacement?
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

The CLS63 doesn't have an OM642 diesel, so what car is the knocking engine in?
