2009 E350 coupe IPhone issue

Hi everyone !!
I've just upgraded my phone from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 6 & I'm having trouble connecting it to my 2009 E350 ....... It was easy to sync the 4S to the car but it doesn't seem to want to recognise my new iPhone 6 , is there an incompatibility issue between car & phone & do I need a software update on the car or am I just missing something that I need to do to get it to recognise it ???
I'd be really grateful if anyone can shed any light on this /advise me if they have had a similar issue !!

Your car will be recognising your iPhone user name but not the device. Delete your old phone from the list of paired devices on the car and then pair it again. I had the same issue and that's how I resolved it.
