2009 E500 vs 550i vs XF Premium

Not sure I like the route mercedes is following with the new models. They are incresingly looking like bmws externally with sharp edges and internally with two screens and the huge decorating strip plus rotating knob. And the cheapest car of the test?

Its useful in this climate to chase sales but there has to be some exclusivity left in the brand. Plus recently speaking to a greek taxi driver, (mercedes are almost standard for taxis in greece and these are the guys that put them through the real test) when I asked how is he finding his new c class diesel he said stay well away, loads of his friends had problems. His car had a worn steering column and some other bits relating to it replaced in 6 months since new. Stick to e classes he said.

C-classes ceased to have any quality in them once the w203 was released. E-classes have always been good.

I like the Mercedes Dash design, it's almost Art Deco and quite easy on the eye. I though the steering wheel looked cheap compared to the rest though...needed a little more falir, maybe a bit of wood.

I'd not go with the BMW on ride alone, no doubt it would kill the other cars round a track, but I don't drive on a race track on my way to the office everyday...I drive on crappy country lanes.

Jag looked nice too.

I love the new E - Class Coupe not a big fan of the saloon, abit too boxy for me but never the less, it's better than a BMW 5 anyday and for me it looks nicer too.
