2009 E500 W207 Rear shock absorbers - help please

So last week, the car started switching into "Sport" mode automatically after a few hundred metres of driving.

Turns out that one of the rear shocks needs replacing.

My mechanic tells me the price is £360ish plus VAT for the Mercedes part (and then labour also).

I'm wondering if anyone can advise on 1) any good alternatives to the OEM part or 2) a cheaper price for the OEM part.

Yeah, Ivve managed to find shocks for cars without sports suspension but eurocarparts, onlinecarparts, dingbro etc don't seem to have the sports suspension part

the electrically valved shocks are made by Monroe- they are expensive and differ right and left

Thanks for all your input gents.

I had forgotten that I still have a warranty so contacted the company today. All should be well as it looks like they will cover the repair.
