Hi guys and gals...
It's been a while since I was last on, just using mobile site so forgive me if posting in the wrong section, I am looking at an E500 2009, what is the real world "economy" ?

I would like honest feedback from owners with V8s, I reckon I do about 12000 miles per annum.
I'm guessing about 300 miles to a tank and about 20-22mpg

Thanking you in advance for honest feedback

Glen

You're near the mark - you can get 25 or more on the motorway but around town you'll do we'll to go above 18-20. Awesome cars though! You could always convert it to LPG depending upon how long you want to keep it if fuel costs are a concern.

Hi

I have a 2005 CLK500 and get around 17 mpg round town and 25 on a run.

Hope this helps

Ian

Cheers Guys,

Kind of what I was expecting.
I did say to the missus that after 10 years of 3 litre diesels my current car was the last of them.... I didn't explain that the next car could be V8 :-)

I may look to convert to LPG but will need to research availability of the LPG fuel in Central Scotland. Would a conversion cost much more than 2k?
I have always wanted to do V8 thing for a year or two and a conversion may help the sums to add...... That being said... The pile of s&@£e 3.0d that I currently drive is registering 27mpg and I only get 350ish miles to a full tank.

It did when I converted mine but that was 6 years ago and I've heard it's cheaper now. Definitely check out availability and price - that engine runs beautifully on LPG but not much point if you can't get hold of any. If you think it'll work for you I can refer you to an experienced fitter - only issue is that he's near Bath...

I'll do dome homework on availability and conversion to LPG, I told the dealer I would've in to haggle if car is still in his stock at the end of the month....... Hopefully should be as he has had it sat for almost 3 months now.
