Hi, I have bought a Pioneer double din stereo to replace the my NTG 2.5 but I am going round I'm circles trying to figure out what wiring harness I need.

I don't think I have HK or an amp in my car, it's a quadlock connector behind the stereo and not the 2 wires like I've seen for the fibre connection.

I bought CONNECTS2 CTKMB06 kit

It said it was for my age of car and non amplified but when I hooked everything up the unit didn't power on, fault finding I found the constant 12v coming from the cars quad-lock won't work with the harness as it's wrong pinouts.

Could anyone point me in the direction to what I need?

Many thanks in advance.

Contact Comand Online - they know their stuff and will be able to advise exactly what you need.
Thanks for the link, ive used their contact form on their site hopefully they will get back to me soon. Ive been googling and searching the forums and not found anything on W211 NTG 2.5 being upgraded to an aftermarket unit, surely someone has upgraded the outdated stereo to something more modern.

If you included your VIN they can look up the build sheet for your car, which will help them determine exactly what's needed. Shame you're so far away from them as they supply and fit Pioneer units to MB's!

Absolutely, for me it wasn't a Pioneer, so I can't comment on pin outs.
Btw your searches are lacking, there is info here and other places, about 211's, 639's and many other MB models having been upgraded to all sorts.

I fit Chinese stuff. Far cheaper, more comprehensive re: functionality, and in the main 'plug and play'.

I thought I would update this post for anyone else having the same issue as I did.

I contacted Dynamic Sounds where I purchased the fitting kit for support and they said I needed a replacement harness. They sent out Connects2 Part Number CTSMC001.2 which works great including steering wheel controls.
The instructions lists about every Merc but the E class for this harness 🤦‍♂️ but glad its working without having to buy anything else.

I also contacted command online which said to purchase this Fitting Kit for Aftermarket Stereo in R171 SLK class with NTG2.5 and leave a note with my VIN so they would ensure I was sent the correct kit.

I hope this will help someone down the line.

can you share pics of the unit you removed from your car and is it working?

Sorry I've boxed it away and put it up the attic so if I sell the car I can put the original back in, was working but the Bluetooth when taking calls would be unusable, you would hear the call for a few seconds then it would cut in and out. That was one of the main reasons for replacing it and I missed android auto which I had in my last car.
