200mph+ car returning 70mpg

Using the claims as published, then theoretically, projecting those figures forward, you should be able to produce a C Class sized car that would give around 200mpg - if not alot more.
I would like to see official mpg figures and not just manufacturers claims before getting too enthusiastic.

As the presenter of Fifth Gear said last night. Impossible. Only in rolling wheels and sterile environ. They cannot publish the official figure. :D

The highest I can get for my W211 1.8 l engine is 47.7 mpg for a long drive of a round trip of 200 miles to Glasgow. At other time 23 ~ 29 mpg.

"The Trident Iceni achieves this remarkable power and mpg figure thanks to what the company calls 'torque multiplication'. Trident says this technology is 'available now, requires no further research and development and can make an immediate difference to the amount of emissions diesel vehicles produce'."

Sounds splendid. May I obtain a bucket of this for next spring's petunia beds?

Torque multiplication.

Hmm.

My C class has that.

Just changing down a gear multiplies the torque......
.

changing down a gear also multiplies your fuel consumption :)
