2010 E350 CDI cabriolet problem

Hi everyone I have recently re-joined the fold with the above car which will need new front tyres very shortly and I will be having the wheels refurbed at the same time, it currently has standard staggered 18'' AMG alloys front and rear, can anyone advise me on the widest size tyres that I can fit on it that will help me me protect the rims (as they have suffered terribly in previous ownership) without getting involved with spacers and avoiding anything that would cause the wheels to rub on full lock etc, the tyre sizes at present are 245 45 18 Front 8.5J ET48 and 265 35 18 Rear 9.0J ET54 many thanks Chris

You'd be better off sticking with the standard tyre size but going for tyres with built in rim flange protectors.
