That MCT transmission sounds good too -- wonder how long before it's in other models..

All that for an estimated $85k.

US buyers have it pretty good, i'd say.

I will be interested to know how MB price the E63 in the UK. The W211 AMG starts at £66k, which used to be ~ €95-100k back when it launched, but is around €77k now. However, the prices in Germany for this are still starting at €105k, so unless MB price at the old exchange rate, the W212 AMG *should* cost around UK£90k, which would be a total non-starter.

Car Magazine tested it and said it was wonderful but that it would cost £20k more than a BMW M5. Quite a premium as you could buy for the £85k a Caterham R500 and a E350cdi....or any other £35k sports car and £50k saloon.

A C63 is about £50k. A C320cdi is about £35k and an E320cdi (211) about £40k. Therefore the E63 should cost £55k. How MB charge a £15k premium for a 63 engined C class over a 320 diesel one in a C class but a £30k premium for the same jump in an E I do now know.
