Cheers I thought the guy said a different name but maybe not. Glad to get a decent recommendation for a local ish firm. I'm leics. I left my details with him. I did ask if they'd done them before and he said yes, didn't say he had one in at the time.

I've been to a couple of places to see what they say. One is a one man band merc specialist but the workshop left a bit to be desired looked a bit messy. Didn't inspire confidence. Another place looked quite schmick but he didn't have time to have a look despite asking me to call by the other week. He's the one who's doing one in feb. Reckoned he would have to scan the car though I thought was a bit out but perhaps sensors need investigating too.

Thanks for link to motor I found one too on Ebay although I think my motor is working fine just depends if the ball stud thing can be replaced.

So your car lists originally A2048202942, then replaced by A2048203042.

I'd be reluctant to buy a different part number, and I think the two linked to on eBay are not the referenced part numbers.
But for £50, maybe worth a risk if you can figure out if there are any differences or not? (I'd personally just stick with ...2942 and ...3042).
