2011 350ML aftermarket daytime running lights advice needed

Alright chaps and chappettes.

I’m about to pick up a 2011 ML Sport that doesn’t have the led daytime running lights like the Grand Edition. I’ve seen on the internet you can get them handy enough, ie ebay. But, has anyone fitted them?
They crack on its a straight swap on the whole, but some mention canbus errors. The only info I’ve seen up to now is on American sites where they just seem to put the red wire on a terminal near the battery? What do you do with the old fog lights?

I bought the Carlsson DRLs for my w204 and I believe they do some for the ML . Not cheap but after 6 years and 80,000 miles they still worked perfectly.
