Any thoughts on whether the chain should be changed on a 2011 c220 cdi. Current mileage is 146. Not too sure what to look or listen for and have read conflicting reviews??

Title..Chain..

Only if you hear a start up rattle , then only it's just the chain tensioner .

Not necessarily just the chain tensioner - the chain often stretches and needs changing also. Better to do the full job for peace of mind.

Any idea as to the cost of the full job?

£720 ish at an independent Mercedes specialist for timing chain, tensioner and 2x cam sprockets. The engine does not need to come out despite the chain being at the back of the engine.

I have just had a conductor plate at a Mercedes specialist and I have a slight rattle they said it's the engine mount.
When I start the engine in a morning does it for a few secs

I'd get a second opinion on that just to be sure...

Jack that side of the engine up a few mm . If it still rattles its something else. Worn mounts usually make noises on and off revs as the engine flexes. Not on start up for a few seconds anyways.
