15-20 minutes later and all filled in and submitted.

Not only do they have all this information about you and yours, if you do the paper copy and lick the envelope they also get your DNA

Nope - Page 31 of the form says that if the whole household is away then it should be completed on their return, otherwise the person should be included on the census return for their home address.
