Thankfully this can be filled in online. With two adults and three children in the house the thought of writing forever wasn't appealing.

15-20 minutes later and all filled in and submitted.

It takes about 2 mins per person to fill the paper copy in.

The info gathered is pretty basic/pointless anyway

just got ours too, didnt know it was law to fill one in!

May the force be with you...and if you don't fill it in they will be round to get ya..:D

Rumour has it if you are away from the house you do not have to fill it in - especially if you are overnighting in Scotland where it is not happening at all. Campervan anyone?

Supposedly to enable planning of requirements for hospitals etc etc, bet it's how can we think of new innovative ways to tax the populace.

Not only do they have all this information about you and yours, if you do the paper copy and lick the envelope they also get your DNA :p

Be careful out there. :D

The information you submitted may be used by the following;

Nope - Page 31 of the form says that if the whole household is away then it should be completed on their return, otherwise the person should be included on the census return for their home address.

Very handy for some, this full list of all away-households on 27th March.. :D

You could always just say no :)

Quote from BBC news yesterday "There is a fine of up to £1,000 for failing to complete and return the form, but in 2001 only 38 people were prosecuted."
