Any ideas or things to try
Thanks

About 20 minutes should do the trick, if the screen turns out to be faulty I would suggest replacing with an Android screen which will give you a lot more options.
hope u get it sorted

Where do you get android screen from you have any links . Thanks
Also is there a way to test screen is working the one in pictures above

well tried a new screen that I know is working in car and that was blank also.
so thinking problem lies elsewhere.
what on reading odb2 machine to arrive
hopefully that picks up fault and somewhere to try or garage it goes.

Sorry to hear of your problem, must be something wrong with radio unit or wiring/plugs, there is a fuse in the back of the radio unit might be worth a check but if the radio starts up ok it is likely not the problem.
Comand online may be able to help you as they are members on here ie Alfie or Richard

will getting my car connected to someone with xentry software show faults with the audio unit and tell me what is faulty or will need to remove it and take it to main dealer or audio coder shop.

I am not sure if xentry will tell you much other than a faulty radio, my Comand stopped working altogether, Xentry just pointed out that the unit was indeed faulty and needed replaced main dealer charged for a diagnostic £160 and £2500 for a replacement Comand with screen, so it was the second hand route for me from the Bay and my Indie re coded it using xentry to the car.

Best going to an independent mercedes guy if you want the diagnostic test, but post Alfie or Richard who are on here they will give you the best advice

Hooked up odb reader got these messages
There are 1 issues for Safety and Security system:

1. The CAN message from control unit "CGW [ZGW]" is faulty.

There are 1 issues for Vehicle body system:
1. Communication with the control unit "Head unit" has a malfunction. The message is missing.

So just telling me what already now 😂head unit not working .
M as ages yo find a mb coder locally going to call Tuesday and book it in. And also see about android /carplay if other screen is broken
