Hi
I went to view this MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS 3.0 E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Avantgarde 7G-Tronic 5dr Estate for sale in Stockport | Auto Trader today with the intention of making an offer for a straight sale. Everything was in order until the engine was started. It started and idled fine for circa 5 mins, I then gave the throttle a very slight blip and it immediately started to shake as if not firing on a number of cylinders, tried revving to clear it to no avail. there was a strong smell from the exhaust, turned off and started it up again but still the same.
Turned it off again and removed the key, restarted and all was fine although didnt take it for a test drive as I was tight for time.
Car was serviced 3 months ago and from memory has done approx 3k since.
I was really keen on the car until this and it has put me off making an offer.
Is this a common issue? Anyone had similar??
