2011 w204 map pilot help needed

I have just bought my c220 which has a becker map pilot in the glove box. In my infinite wisdom I decided to remove it and update it. I initially did a back up and went through all the prompts. Until it got to the point where it asks you to press the reset button. This is when everything crashed and it is now not recognised by the USB. The thing just seems dead.
Has anyone had similar problems? Is there a fix? How much is a replacement? Are the alternatives? How much is this going to set me back ?

Just a thought and worth a try get a SD card which fits in the slot on the side and then copy your old backup to the SD card and see if that works. I suspect when you hit the reset button it's corrupted the hard drive in the map pilot

tried that one it seems the firmware might have become corrupt. Don't know what to do. does anyone know of anybody who can re flash it or service exchange it.
