Hi,

Another comand/UMI related question from me - I've got a USB memory stick attached to the UMI, but in each directory it seems to display the hidden files, so for example if I've got the folder "Alicia Keys - The Diary Of" and copied across the following tracks:

01) Track 1
02) Track 2
03) Track 3
04) Track 4
...

What gets displayed on the comand screen is the following:

01) .Track 1
02) .Track 2
03) .Track 3
04) .Track 4
05) Track 1
06) Track 2
07) Track 3
08) Track 4

So it effectively doubles the amount of entries you have on the track browser and you can't actually select the files with "." in front. I've tried reformatting the USB stick and recopying the tracks but to no avail - anyone else experienced/rectified anything similar?

Cheers,

Sunny

Are you PC or MAC? It's a computer issue anyway. The PC/MAC will create these hidden files. You can view them on PC by following this

I use a mac - will look into ways of viewing these files on there, guessing you'd need to go into every directory and delete these then? That should be fun!

I am a mac user and the pc guys at work hate my mac because it likes to create hidden files.

I put music onto my usb stick from my mac and don't seem to have a problem.

I selected the song I wanted in iTunes then dragged it onto my USB, bingo! artwork is there too!

Mac user - good man!

The only difference I'm doing compared to the way you're populating your USB is I'm using finder and dragging the folders directly onto the stick rather than from iTunes - the artwork is displaying correctly on mine too, just can't seem to get rid of those damn hidden files! Will give it a go direct from iTunes and see if that makes a difference.

I am a designer so a mac is essential!

What I did was create the folder in Finder and then drag the files in from iTunes!

Hope that helps!
