2012 c180 engine

im looking at buying a c180 2012 petrol it says it's an 1.8 turbo 201hp but i cant find the engine code anywhere is it a m274 m271??

It's the M271, best avoided, sadly.

The M274 was introduced in the W204 in MY 2013 and was 1.6L Turbo.

(And the W205 launched in 2014 had the 2.0L variant of the M274 engine)

BTW, the M271 in the C180 CGI produced 156bhp.

The same M271 engine with different bits produced 201bhp in the C250 CGI.

So the car is either a C180 with 156bhp, or a C250 with 201bhp...
