Hi

Following a thread from last new years day I measured my energy consumption for the year.

Oil 1797 Litres @57.2p/litre
Electric 6427 Kwh @18.039p/unit
Gas 1401 m3 @54.4p/m3

This is for a household of 7 living in a 150 yr old 4000sqf house.


Total cost of £2949:eek::eek:

Did anyone else measure theirs?

My rolling year energy measurement can't be done until 2nd Feb - I'll try to remember to return here to update then.
 
Total for gas and electric - £720.

3 of us in a smallish 1970s 3 bed house.
 
Total gas+elect approx £1500

2000sqft detached, 4 in household, 5 if my son came back from London UCL.

Feed in tariff recieved approx £1200.

My household spend is £300 :D

I think you missed a rather large bit. Capital spend to achieve FiT?

Yes agreed! Calculated pay back time is around 8years.

But government guarantee 25years index linked payment, and energy prices are on the increase year on year!
Since installing my solar panels, I've instructed my wife to use the washing machine/vacuum in mid afternoon, make the most of the free energy.

Lowest ever electric bill I paid in July was under £17 :cool:

Not to mention I am saving the world resources, so AMG could carry on producing their V8 engines :D

What time have you instructed her to have your dinner on the table ?
 
Electric 2903 Kwh @13.14p/unit (£381.45)
Gas 15818 KwH @ 4.74p/unit (£749.77)

Currently changing provider so should save about £160 in 2014
 
2012:
Electricity 2900 kWh
Heating Oil 1100 litres (11,000 kWh)

2013:
Electricity 2648 kWh @ 14p/kWhr = £371
Heating Oil 1267 litres (12,670 kWh) @64p/l = £811

2 people, 3 bed 70s bungalow.

177 sq.m chalet bungalow, 4 bed, 4 occupiers, fairly well insulated.
Heated by heat pump/underfloor heating running 24/7, switches on/off by thermostat only.

Day electric 6556units @ £0.12181 = £798.58
Night electric 3055 units @ £0.05760 = £175.97
Standing charge £125.00

Total cost for electric £1099.55

Feed in tariff received £1659.43
(pay back time on capital currently estimated at 4yrs 9mths)
19 x 195W panels

Renewable heat incentive - trying to get signed up at the moment.
