Hi all,
I currently own a 2013 W204 C250 CDI (204BHP) – OM651 Engine
I wanted to write a post as there is not much information on the subject at hand and I figured it would be helpful to solve any issues that I'm sure some of you are having.
Backstory: One day I was driving home there was a sudden loss of power when I was accelerating on the motorway. It almost seemed like it was in some type of limp mode as the kickdown feature would not work and the revs would not go higher than 3000rpm. When I slowed down the gear changes were very jerky and it was very noticeable. I restarted the car and then it was all back to normal. There was also no EML displayed on the cluster. I had the codes scanned and there was an error code present which was:
P0248-72 - Output 2 for the low-pressure turbocharger has a malfunction. The actuator does not close.
Having some knowledge with being hands on with cars I first did a vacuum test on the turbo actuators to ensure there was no issues with either of the 2 actuators on the OM651 Bi-turbo. Both actuators held vacuum so I was able to eliminate that as an issue.
My next port of call was to do a smoke test on the vacuum lines as again it is reported a leak in the vacuum system can affect the turbo vacuum. There was also nothing visible with the smoke test.
I then scoured the internet to see if I could find anything else on the error and much to my surprise I stumbled across an article from several years ago which was quite difficult to get my head around.
It was instructed to replace the following components as a user had the exact same error code that I did. Part numbers are also below:
It’s been around 2 weeks now and the car is trying faultlessly with no more issues. I hope this post can help someone else as I was stuck with this issue for some time.

- Turbo Boost Pressure Transducer – A0091533128 – OEM Supplier Pierburg 7.00782.12.0 which was around £40 from GSF’s eBay.
- Vacuum Control Solenoid – A0025407097 – I again went with Pierburg 7.02256.37.0. which was around £35 from eBay.
It’s been around 2 weeks now and the car is trying faultlessly with no more issues. I hope this post can help someone else as I was stuck with this issue for some time.
