Mercedes e class 2015
Hi all, I wonder if you can guide me a little.
When I start my car up it makes a huge noise, only for 5 seconds or so then it goes away.
I got the car second hand from mercedes salisbury coming up to 2 years ago now with 22k on the clock.
Got full MB service history and its only done 50k now. A b3 service is due now.

Given to an ex merc technician and he's advised its either timing chain thats slackened or oil pump and that I take it to mercedes and see if they give me a goodwill gesture as the parts shouldn't go on such low mileage.
I am a taxi driver, but mainly deal in long distance work private work, no finance on car and I told them what the car would be used for before I brought it.

Has anyone had this problem before? Has anyone got a goodwill gesture? If so, how did you do it?

Its out of warranty so would I be better off going to a specialist instead?

Seems very low miles for chain issues, I’d defo approach MB and see what they offer. I assume it has full main dealer service history?

Ye to date has full main MB dealer service.
Quoted me a ridiculous price for the b3 service and was gona take it to a specialist but may stick with main dealer.

Have you considered a service plan?

Hmm one route to go down. I'll have to look into the monthly cost.

I know someone who uses MB in his chauffeur business. MB would offer no service plan because of the mileage his MB's did. They were all purchased new (separately) , An S class Limo, E class estate and a 'leathered up' Vito.Same for extended warranty..no chance. Some tentative offer's were discussed but the cost was off the scale .

Hmmm let's see what they say. I'll them what the car is used for.

B3 service price will be expensive but shouldn’t be ridiculous. What is included in that service makes it ridiculous, should only be checks brake fluid, oils and a filter/s.

Add an ATF and it will be expensive.

Quoted me £650 just for a b3 service.
ATF is due but not included in the price.

No warranty on it now.
