2015 GLE 250 d engine oil usage

Can anyone advise how often I should check the oil level on a car used mainly for short journeys, with the occasional 3/4 hour run at 50/60 mph?

I check my E250 every month or so, it doesn't do a lot of miles, maybe 20 miles a week at the moment. Mine never seems to use any oil between changes and it's only done 43,000 miles so I don't worry.
If I was going on a long run I would check it along with tyre pressures.
