I absolutely love it,that's my next car once iv got sick of my W211

That's some interior.
I expect, like many cars, it will be better in the flesh than in the photos (even though I like it's exterior style).

Excellent, its a smaller S class, but a larger C class.

Just like the Bruno Sacco days with the W140 > W124 > W202

I hope that Mercedes offer this stunning light interiors in the UK, they look fantastic and I love the dash layout.

The non-sport grill version will look excellent, should have pictures on the 11th.

I agree - it looks great!

I won't give good odds against MBUK screwing it up for us by not offering the light interior colours and the traditional grill though

Nope doesn't work for me too conservative and looks like a Rover 75

I'm sure the AMG versions will be better Ian, but probably still not Audi macho :(.

They are even catering for all those people who de-chrome their cars making them look poverty-spec look: ;)

I like the looks from all angles apart from the front which I find a tad aggressive. The dash is a definite improvement for me.

Does any one else think the more aggressive fronts may engender discourtesy from other drivers? E.g here comes another Mr Toad, stuff you mate.

Not from the front, but since I got my current car, I get someone tailgating me daily. Im talking so close you cant even see their headlights  and no I dont drive slowly

The AMG version might look like an MG ZT ?

Not having a good run with cars lately. CLK pressed into service as my daily driver done 2000 miles in 15 days. What a bloody good car it is.

Neat pano roof - giant one of the front, standard one at the back:

I'm not a fan of the front grill unit, looks as if it's been planted on as an afterthought much the same as they did when totally ruined the fronts of both the SL and SLK now resolved with the new SL,still not keen on the new SLK or whatever it's called now.

South Germans are famously conservative that's why they can sell the same car worldwide without problems.

I think the car is no surprise.

E-class is the one car they need to be conservative on to keep all the 50+ year olds who mainly buy/drive them happy.

Looks the step and a half forward the C-class was too in the interior over the previous model.

I think the proportions of the saloon are better in the E- than the C- too.

Think you've got the nail on the head. I've already seen lots of complaint that it's too similar to the S and C, but I don't think those people understand the demographic of E Class buyers. It's definitely still a car that is bought by older people and in my experience they always comment on the S Class.

E-class is the real backbone for MB worldwide. Just look how long they have been making this size car and how many you see around the world.

I do think this is the one model they could risk the traditional grille and star on though.
