in the basic spec, the instrument binacle is sooooo dissapointing

I disagree. The dash is WAY better than the stuck on iPad that MB have inflicted on so many other models.

Neat pano roof - giant one of the front, standard one at the back:

I'm not keen on the big, shiny speakers - looks like someone has made a model with the empty foils leftover from their Xmas mince pies.

I do like the cross-sticked leather, though, and the roof, which will no doubt go wrong!

I dislike Mercedes marketing persistence with the 1990's CGI 'air brush' look for the exteriors. As used across the Mercedes websites too. The paintwork, shadows and reflections looks so dull and fake

Very clever, but imo builds on the mistake introduced with the W205 touchpad in that you have to look at the display to see what you're selecting rather than being able to rely on tactile feedback from traditional buttons while you watch the road.

Yay my 124 is back in fashion. OK, at least the E 300 badge on the boot of the above looks a dead ringer for my E 300 badging on the 124 as does the Mercedes badge. What is attached to those badges though would appear to be some chalk and cheese.

I'm not keen on the idea of cookie cutter C/E/S design but I really like that.

the nicest thing about this new w213 externally is the headlights. the two LED lines are the best looking lights on the roads (in my opinion) but then, the w212 and c207 already have it.

i'm really not keen on the small rear lights and especially the fact that it looks so similar to the C and S. apart from the swish dashboard, it's an all round disappointment for me. for now

Interior looks good and the E really needed that update. I am glad the stick on iPad is not being used - wonder if that is a design signal for the inevitable c class facelift?
