2018 S213 E63S Feb 2025 purchase

I had PS4S’s on my W213 E63s and they performed amazingly. When I bought the GTc it came with Conti 7’s and I first planned to change them to PS4S’s, but the tread depth was too good to warrant an immediate change. I ran the Conti’s for a year, including some very spirited driving in the Swiss Alps and Autobahns. IMO the Conti’s matched the high performance that I got with the Michelins and if I hadn’t have sold the GTc I would have put another set of Conti 7’s on it when it was time.
I do understand we are talking about a different car, but I’m highlighting that for me the Conti’s 7’s are a serious tyre to consider and at Alps’s prices a very good saving over PS4S’s.

What have you currently got on yours ? Is it pirellis ? That's what ive got on

When I fitted continental SC7 on my m3 in January, it was 0 to -1c and upon first collecting the car , it was gripping like crazy. Having been a michelin fan boy had quite a few different michelin tyres on cars recently (fitted mps4s on my e46 m3, ps5 on my 6 series bmw and some mps4s on the 5.5 AMG , mps4 on my 6.2 212 and 211 6 2) the sc7 beats them all. The mps4s in particular affected the turn in feel when i stuck them on the w212 5.5, the tyre needed to load up a bit before turning which is fine and you get great cold weather grip but the conti seems even better in feel and actual grip. Comfort in the 4S is great though and it has slightly better rolling resistance than the conti.
Certainly reviews suggest the SC7 beats the MPS4S in wet and cold weather too from what I researched when that tyre first came out. Contis of old were notorious for not lasting very long but it seems they've made great strides in that respect.
Let me know how you get on with the mps4s I'll wear these ones out a bit more before swapping them out. Hopefully by the the new pirelli will be tested more but if it's not as good in colder weather then I'm skipping it
Currently have Pirelli P-Zero 'Chocolate Edition' all round :D All I know is they're terrible until they're really warm and even then, I don't have the confidence to lean on them when pressing on - which is really disconcerting considering the car is AWD. My old C63S on MPS4S's felt much more composed, ok it had 100+ less horsepower, but it was all going to the back and even so - it didn't feel like it would step out on me, not like the E class does.

I will certainly check out the alternatives to the Michelins, i've got the MOT and insurance renewal in July, plus I want to get new front discs and pads at the same time, so the tyres may have to wait a couple of months but i'll give you an honest opinion when I do get them.

Had the annual service. Apart from engine oil, transmission service , rear axle oil change , new brake fluid etc

Front tyres are almost done for. So what should I go for :
MPS S 5 are available
MPS4S is available
Conti SC 7 is available
Or replace with more pirellis 🤢
I have MPS4S on my E63
Conti on before that, but I found them to be just too soft and they wore more quickly than the Michelins

Do you remember which contis those were, were they the 7 or maybe 6?

Pretty sure they were 7's.
I had the conti on the front with PS4 on the rear for a short period of time, then conti 7 went on the rear.
From memory they were being offered at a really good price by the place I get all my tyres from
