2019 Mercedes S205 Estate - Roof Rail Removal

Hi All, many thanks in advance for any replies and support, have any of you tried to remove the roof rails ? can it be done leaving the headlining in place or do you have to remove it completely ?

I am wanting to remove the standard slver ones to replace with Black
