2025 road tax

Afternoon all

Any sites available that show 2025 road tax for used cars?

"What about existing cars?

If you’re not buying a new car, you’ll be able to breathe a sigh of relief. The Chancellor announced that VED will be increasing in line with RPI (retail performance index). The ONS (Office for National Statistics) lists RPI at 2.6% for September 2024, but it may well fluctuate between now and April 2025. "

That's just when you first buy it brand new.... thats not the annual charge. If I was buying a brand new Urus I wouldnt worry about a one off extra couple of grand. I'd be far more worried about my shockingly bad taste in cars!!

Which means TODAY and won't increase much for 2025 that you can drive a post April 2017 small engined petrol or diesel hairdryer hatchback etc for £190 VED a year , or a pre April 2017 , something like an Audi TT 2.0 TDI 184 BHP for £35 VED a year !

I must be missing something here, a pre April 2017 Audi 2.0 TDi 184bhp is £190 now, before the increases?

Not sure where you are looking up your info.

But a 66 plate Audi TT 2.0 TDI 184 BHP Ultra S line is just £35 to tax for a year today .

I see that now, Parkers shows they range from £20 to £190 a year depending on exact model.

It's quite extraordinary .

But logically it's probably the infamous VAG cheat software to put out less CO2.

There are quite a few pre April 2017 low road tax for 2.0 dervs like de tuned 2.0 1 Series BMW 116 / 118 and VW Golf 2.0 TDI Bluemotion Tech .

It's Rachel Thieves way of persuading prospective owners of new ICE cars to switch to EV's.
I must admit there is no way I'd buy a new car with a road fund licence of over £5k even if I could afford it.
There are no cars with £5k road tax......just a £5k, first time only fee.... they will be £195 per year after that...plus the £410 for the first five years if it cost more than £40k list price when new.

Car Tax Disc Holder.

On display today in our local post office.
Are these still used, or have I missed something and this is another Labour reset? 🤔

Apparently, Powered wheelchairs and scooters need to register and display a nil duty disabled tax disc. 🤔
If it not untaxed is it confiscated?
