205 c class 250d sport,conversion to c63

I can understand the haters - if you want a C63 go out and buy one! Don't pretend to have what you don't have.

But, I see it differently.

The standard W205 looks ok, but the styling of the AMG version looks better...better bumpers, stance, wheels etc. A C63 may not be economical (StuartK sold his for this very reason, it's not because he didn't want one) or may be out of financial reach. So to make the car look better, you can either put on an aftermarket kit which may not fit correctly, may look a bit 'Max Powery' or go for the AMG bumpers. I am sure the OP wanted his car to look better than a standard W205 and imo chose the correct option of AMG bits. The only time I think this is wrong is when people badge it up to what it is not.

Members who own AMGs add bits to their cars (brakes/spoilers/507 vents) but that's OK?? They can remap to 800+ BHP but no one slates them for trying to impersonate an F1 car, because they are not so lets give this guy a pat on the back for a job well done (again bar the wheels):thumb:

Nice job, perhaps you are getting a lot of attention because the real ones

Are moving so fast to notice.Keep em fooled and enjoy it.:thumb:

Looks good to me but needs bigger wheels to pull it off properly.

It's almost going back to what AMG did originally in the 80's and early90's.

Back then, before Mercedes invested in them for branding purposes you could build a fully cosmetic Mercedes AMG with no mechanical modifications whatsoever (even diesels), in fact there were probably more of those by a mile than factory mechanically modified cars.

Not really. I now have a 335d and not once has it crossed my mind to fit an M3 bumper, wings, wheels etc. Mainly because it would be the same as me buying a fake Rolex. I am not trying to impress anyone. Don't flaunt what you havnt got type thing.

How different is what the OP has done compared to you adding £3K's work of M Sport BMW branded bodykit to your Diesel BMW?

Car looks better than before. You're not badging it as an "AMG" so well done. Thumbs up from me, mod away.

Ignore C36fan - he is bitter because somebody else bought facelift parts he wanted for his car :D

Its your car so do as you please and enjoy. If anyone has anything negative to say then f*uck their opinion.

My CLS was factory ordered with the full entire AMG pack and has been tuned up and I have left behind quite a few C63s that have wanted to play!

Ha ha - quality :thumb:.

I think the car looks fine. Not a lover of the new shape but the body kit goes some way to making it look better. As said, bigger wheels may improve it again, and it's not badged as what it isn't which can only be good. :)

I have 718nm of torque that kicks in from 1600rpm to 3100rpm.

I have some of these nm things of torque I believe, not sure how many, Developer worked it out I think. ;)

I've had your engine (OM642) in an E Class with a Brabus tune, before having two E63's.

From personal experience I can tell you the diesel, whilst being moderately nippy at low revs, isn't in the same performance league as either of the 63's.

We're talking a world of difference here.

Sorry for the hijack OP.

I agree.CLS is used by the Mrs as a daily runner but with the tuning is a very fun car to drive and play with

Looks OK, needs the slightly flared arches, wheel and tyre size change, rear lower diffuser and front grill to finish.... Oh and needs to be slightly lower.

why tragic,I know some people dont have the cahoonas to do it to a new car,but it dont look much different from the real deal, now be honest :-)
Or is it a case of **** i paid all that money for a 63 and this guys stole a bit of the glory with an oil burner lol

Each to their own i say. Your car, your cash, your choice and you do what makes you happy.

But there is definitely no glory whatsoever in the car looking like something it isn't. The glory is all in the driving experience of a C63.

Just my 2 cents..

Because that kit was intended for my actual model of car and doesn't make it look like an M3. If it did I wouldn't bother as I would be embarrassed to imitate the superior model!

I think it looks good :)

Much better than my sport and I like that you've left it badged as the 250d.

It's not an imitation in my mind, just a tastefully modded car :thumb:

The AMG line looks nothing like the AMG.

It's a look, and a nice one at that.

I don't see what the problem is.
