I don't think there is a problem. I love to see stuff like this on the road in all fairness.

I think it's the best of both worlds, gorgeous looking car, matched with a very good engine.
If I could have bought a car that looked like that from Mercedes, with the 250d engine, I would have
Looks so much better than the AMG line and poles apart from the sport.

Back in the eighties I helped a friend 'convert' a BMW E30 323i into an M3 lookalike.
It was a mammoth of a job, but the chap was very meticulous (and had deep pockets) and it did end-up looking like a proper M3.
He then went on to replace the original straight-6 engine with a 3.5L lump.
Would I do it again.....? Probably not
