209 coupe auto locking

A couple of times recently I've noticed that my auto lock feature (above 15 kph or whatever it is) hasn't operated. Upon stopping the car and locking, then getting in and driving again it works OK again. No dash warnings, low voltage or any other kind of warning appears. I do however suspect low battery voltage as l think it's quite old. Either that or just a glitch.
Any thoughts please?

My money is on the battery. My CLK did some mad stuff when the battery was low. Had me worried. New battery - all sorted! Try a new one if the one on it is past it’s best.

Battery on the way out?. Had similar problems with my 05 CLK, new battery. the old battery is in my 190 and still giving good service.

Yes l think the battery is past its best. It's an 07 car and I've a feeling it's the original, so it has done exceptionally well.
