My 2001 210 Elegance E class Estate now feels a bit like an old agricultural bus, ride quality seems to have deteriorated in the last 12mths or so, especially compared to my 1997 C240 Elegance (120K ) and the CLK 430 avantgarde at 90k .
Its not been neglected and the ride problem " seems " to be from the rear
Its fine on the motorway and A Roads at speed it seems to be related to way it rides over roads that have been repaired several times (lots round here ) and it feels distinctly loose and joggly not a compliant bump thump as in my other cars
The following has been done over the last 18mths or so so its not been neglected but it has now done 178K
New rear spheres ( August 2012 )
New Front Droplinks ( MB OEM ) August 2014
New Front ARB Bushes (MB OEM ) August 2014
Tyres only about 15mths old approx 50% worn
Springs checked and look in good condition
whats favourite at the rear for wear ?
ARB bushes ?
Subframe Bushes ?
Various other control arms ?
Self levelling does work as I occasionally Tow (short journeys 4 X a year ) and when I have had a heavy load I've watched it raise up .
Could my Front Shocks need doing ?
Maybe its just Tired at 178K just wondering what to look at to rejuvenate it
