Hi all

Can anyone tell me how to reset the active bonnet on a 212 E class ?

Detailed instructions are in the owner's handbook -

Even if the active bonnet has been triggered, you can still continue driving and have it reset at a qualified specialist workshop. If you pull the bonnet release lever, you must reset the bonnet before driving on.

Open the bonnet.
With both hands, lift the bonnet up in the centre . The bonnet is open wide enough when both lids of bonnet lifter no longer move.
If you push the lids back, you will notice resistance.
Release bonnet .
Check whether the lids of bonnet lifter are resting on housings (arrow).
The lids of bonnet lifter are resting on the housings: close bonnet more.
or
The lids of bonnet lifter are not resting on the housings: first, lift up bonnet on left-hand side and then on right-hand side . Lift up bonnet until the respective lid of bonnet lifter no longer moves.
The lids of bonnet lifter must rest on housings (arrow).
Close bonnet

If you can't re-close the bonnet or you get the Bonnet open warning in the multifunction display you will have to have it reset at the dealership. The handbook warns about not driving further with an open bonnet but you can drive with a triggered bonnet. Guess it means if you try and reset it and fail you're stuck.

Have carried out those, seems to pop up after starting the car up... the bonnet didn't pop up or anything so kind of strange how it seems to pop up active bonnet malfunction still.. sometimes after slamming it the light goes of for a seconds just after starting but then at times it just stays on throughout the process

if you must know well the car was driving into a pole lol nothing major just a tap

"A Pole" as in someone from Poland?

Hi, i have the active bonnet warning after an impact activated the actuators. It seems they were not properly reset. Does replacing the actuators sort out the warning?
